Grounded Strategies

 Ground-Truthing

Oral History

With this partnership we are addressing the structural barriers that contribute to maintaining and perpetuation of systemic oppressions that create vacant properties. We are researching local governments policies and procedures that govern how land transfers hands in historically black communities.

de-bias is housing the causal links between socioeconomic issues and the policies and practices around land acquisition for Pittsburgh, PA. This information will allow residents to share what they would like to do with the vacant land and identify the strategies to actualize those ideas. And de-bias will provide the ability for Grounded’s Ground Truthing process to target inequitable policies and practices and scale their solution to local counties and eventually the state of Pennsylvania.
